Established in 1994,  School of Economics and Management formerly known as Department of Department of Economics), when the program of national economy management was offered. In September of that year, the Department enrolled its first batch of undergraduates from all around the country. In September of 1998, the program of national economy management was replaced by the program of economics, and in June, 2003, Department of Economic Management was renamed Department of Economics. In 2003 and 2005, the Department began to offer the new programs of international economy and trade and financial management. After ten years of unremitting efforts, the Department now offers three undergraduate programs: economics, international economy and trade, and financial management. In 2010, the program of economics began to enroll students in the name of the program of finance.

 

In 2007,the Department launched the master program of world economy and in the same year enrolled its first batch of student. In 2011, the Department was granted the right of awarding the master degree for Applied Economics (first level discipline), right after which two master programs – finance and quantitative economics (second level discipline) were launched. The two programs started enrolling students from 2012. Since 2013, it has been renamed as School of Economics and Management with the approval of All-China  Youth Federation.

 

School of Economics and Management  has a staff of 37, including 33 full-time teachers and 4 administrative staff. All the teachers enjoy intermediate and senior titles, among whom 4 are professors and 13 are associate professors. Currently,  the curriculum system is being further developed and remarkable achievements have been made in academic research. In the past five years, teachers of the Department have published over 300 academic articles, accomplished over 40 research projects, published 10 monographs and 6 textbooks, and won 4 prizes of provincial and ministerial level.

 

In the 18 years since its establishment in 1994, School of Economics and Management has enrolled 2,756 undergraduates in total, and currently, the number of registered students is 838. In addition to hard work on campus, the students also pay great attention to the cultivation of the ability of academic research and social practice; they play an active part in a variety of societies, social researches and academic competitions. Possessing a solid theoretical basis, a high comprehensive quality and outstanding practical abilities, our students are strongly preferred by the society. The annual average employment rate of our graduates keeps at a level of over 95% and with a success rate of the entrance exams for postgraduate schools over 20%, many of our students are admitted to renowned institutions of high education such as Tsinghua University, Peking University and Renmin University of China for further study. Many of our graduates are employed in economically developed regions like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Guangzhou.
